This is the re-branding of the College of Arts and Letters at Missouri State University. I was assigned this project through the studio I work in, Brick City Design Studio. The bottom examples are a few variations of the final design chosen by the department heads, and dean of the college.
For my design I tried to find a way to combine the A & L to show how Arts and letters often intertwine. The final logo is a strong representation of this idea because the ampersand is literally intertwine around the letters, and connecting them together. The bold typeface of the A and L combined with the feminine feel of the ampersand gives it an equal balance between the two.
The logo uses the official Missouri State Maroon color, as well as a teal. These were chosen based on aesthetic appeal, and MSU standards.
