"The Deadly Ballad: Lion and Wildebeest"

In the vast African savannah,
Where the sun scorches the earth,
A lion roamed, with a heart of warrior,

Queen of the beasts, proud of her worth.

she hunted with skill and cunning,
Taking down prey with ease,
But today she sought a challenge,
To test her strength and tease.

In the distance, she saw movement,
A herd of wildebeests grazing,
And among them, a wildebeest,
With horn sharp and blazing.

The lion licked her lips in hunger,
And crept towards the herd with grace,
But the beest sensed danger lurking,
And fled with a swift-paced race.

The lion gave chase, with thundering roars,
Through the grasslands, far and wide,
And as she closed in, the buck turned to face,
And fiercely, she did abide.

The two circled each other,
In a dance of death and fear,
But the lion was the stronger,
And the beest, he did not adhere.

With a mighty leap, the lion attacked,
Claws extended, teeth bared,
But the buck was quick and nimble,
And dodged with lightning shared.

They battled for hours,
In a fierce and brutal fray,
Finally, the lion prevailed,
And the beest, he did lay.

The lion roared in victory,
And feasted on her hard-earned prize,
And the wild beasts, they scattered,
As the Queen of the jungle, she did rise.

Thus ends the tale of the hunt,
Between lion and wild beast,
A story of strength and courage,
In the African plains, at least.
