The anti-capitalist utensil
Brief
Working with one of the given Magazines (Wallpaper, New York Times, Vice and Variety): Conceptualize, research and write
an article, along with a typographical cover and double-page spread. In Addition, a full-style redesign of the chosen magazine.
The layout and design choices should be able to be used by the magazine for all their articles. It should be universal yet bold
and new.
Deliverables
02 Cover Page
03 Double Page Spread
Rationale
For the copywriting of the article, the concept of slow productivity is explored through the extended metaphor of a teaspoon.
It has recently become apparent that a large portion of the population will choose a teaspoon as their eating utensil of choice
as opposed to the usual soup spoon. The article explores the reasoning behind this, which essentially speaks to the greater issues of hustle culture and our need to slow down as a society.

As the article speaks of slowing down and ensuring our productivity levels are sustainable, a minimal monochromatic visual strategy was selected. This provides breathing room for the editorial design and allows for emphasis to be placed on only what
is important to the design, thus mirroring the morals of slow productivity.
