Out of the blue Neuperlach
The Quiddestraße Subway station is an important place for the northwest of Neuperlach, with the northern exit situated on the most important east-west-connection and the southern entrance close to another important junction of paths.
Interviews with teenagers revealed that there are no attractive places to spend their free time, so they either go to the PEP-shopping center or the inner city. The most popular paths are the same paths, with people of all age groups. The Ostpark is popular with some of the teenagers, but they usually stay in the middle of it. The Hachinger Bach, located along the western border of Neuperlach, is popular with older or very young residents, who only walk along the stream and only rest there at night.
The Neighborhood around the Quiddestraße lacks infrastructure for teenagers, especially of the non-commercial variety. This place could reactivate and revitalize its surrounding neighborhood.
The most important idea is to reactivate the blue building in the Quiddestraße 17 and establish an open kitchen, urban agriculture, and a roof terrace to provide a meeting space for teenagers.
The idea was to use a small mobile projector to screen movies and sport-events on suitable walls in Neuperlach, with sufficient space for seating and no windows or balconies. Seating and other furniture can be assembled in a workshop, while the open kitchen can provide food and drinks. During winter, a big room can be used for small screenings.
The north west of Neuperlach lacks attractive seating arrangements, but there are concrete barriers, large stones and flower pots that people use to sit down. To improve the quality of living, we want to turn existing objects into more comfortable seating arrangements, supplemented by purpose build arrangements where the most important north-south and east-west paths cross.
Neuperlach needs a new bike-path along the Hachinger Bach and Hüllgraben to connect to Berg am Laim and Trudering Riem, and an open workshop to repair bicycles and scooters.
