Statement of Intent:
Since its completion I had always been intrigued by the Barbican estate in London, built on the site of an original barbican.
Based on primary and secondary research around Psychogeography, and the dérive.
The 12 images relate to the genre of Travel and emote a sense of movement, and sense of place within the confines of the tall towers and walkways of the estate. The style is based around a fine art approach following additional secondary research of Victorian travel photographers during a plan, test, & reflect process, I tried to image what Victorian travellers make of the structures, capturing images of their new world to show others. To give the sense of age I used a Sepia tint and mimicked a plate camera effect which would have used.
My future intention is to create a virtual walk through of the estate using my 360-camera referencing my image points to inspire other photographers.
