MY FRIEND OF FAITH, MY BROTHER COMRADE...
False Friend, mocking, ironic, rascal, inconvenient and always prepared to pounce! an authorial and illustrated history.
"Amigo da onça" is a popular Brazilian expression that describes someone who presents himself as a friend, but is actually false and treacherous. It's as if this person is as dangerously dangerous as a jaguar, known as a jaguar, which is a wild animal and can be deadly.
Therefore, if you call someone a "False Friend", you are suggesting that this person is unreliable, not loyal and not worthy of your trust. It's an expression that is usually used in jest, but can also be used in more hurtful situations to alert someone to an individual's true nature.
