Municipal Tourism Brochure
The DMCI Explore Guide is a bilingual tourism brochure that helps visitors to downtown Moncton, New Brunswick, locate shopping and service establishments, or historical sites and other attractions on a map of the downtown.
The brochure is intended to be displayed in tourism information brochure racks and it is folded so that it has two covers. It is designed so that it opens to the correct inside spread depending on the cover that is facing the user and can be conveniently flipped top over bottom to read the back side.

Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. (DMCI) is a private, non-profit organization serving the interests of building and business owners in the downtown core of Moncton, New Brunswick. DMCI Is committed to creating an attractive place for investors while building a vibrant and inviting atmosphere for tourists and citizens alike.

Categorized listings of stores, hotels, restaurants and other public services are given with the establishment’s name, phone number and map coordinates. The map, drawn as a 3D representation of the city, highlights parking areas by shading and various public services by icons.

The playful wavy left justified treatment of the listings is inspired from the Petitcodiac River, affectionally known a the Chocolate River by locals, which creates the souther boarder of the downtown core.

Organized into a self guided walking tour order, places of historical note and other landmarks are listed with an informative description, their street address and map coordinates. The map, drawn as a 3D representation of the city, highlights landmarks, green spaces and parking areas by shading and various public services by icons.

Original black and white 3D representation of downtown Moncton was drawn on paper by Bernie Robichaud in 2000. Digitizing the map, adding information layers and subsequent updates to various buildings and neighbourhoods have been done by myself.
The building elements from the DMCI logo (designed by Jocelyne Saulnier), and downtown architecture, inspired illustrations used in the piece.
