La Danse de la Belle Creole - A Haitian Restaurant

La Belle Creole is a Haitian restaurant celebrating the rich art and culture of Haiti.
One of the poorest countries of the world is capable of producing unique expressions in culinary arts, music, dance, sculpture, and painting. The restaurant is designed to showcase all of these.
The floorplan concept was derived from two particular Haitian dance forms:
The Haitian Ballroom, for the first floor, is derived from classical European dances such as the Waltz, the French influence in Haitian Culture.
For the second floor, the Danse Congo, of African tribal origin was used as inspiration.
The following is an inspiration for interior finishes and furniture. These are all examples of French Colonial architecture and decor.
Haitian Food: A unique blend of French and Indian cuisine using local ingredients.
Haiti is famous for several creole dishes.
One is Riz de Djon Djon, a black rice deriving its color from a mushroom that only grows in Haiti.
Haitian Coffee and Rum are highly valued exports, competing in quality with the Blue Mountain coffee and rum from Jamaica.
Blan mange is a famous desert with French roots, being modified through coconut milk to a typical Caribbean dish.
