Calligraphy Manuals: Blackletter — Fraktur is a collaboration between Hugo “Xesta” Moura, a seasoned calligrapher and 0.itemzero.
Thoroughly illustrated, from tools to letter shapes, it covers the full spectrum of the Fraktur hand and goes all the way through to advanced letter construction. All of it fully annotated with descriptions, hints and tips, breaking down concepts and techniques in the most simple and straightforward way, in order to optimize learning the style.

Our simple approach breaks down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms so that you can learn Fraktur from the very beginning.
To accompany the book, two posters were also developed and are available at our online store: a map of ligatures, extending the book with additional examples; and a full alphabet, highlighting the construction and direction of each stroke.
