INFLUENCES
A drawing of 'Falling Dansu', a collaboration between architects O'Donnell + Tuomey and furniture designer Joseph Walsh.
This was an early study of one of Finn Juhl's lounge chairs. The drawing was completed as part of a one week primer project.
CONCEPT WORK
A sketch exploring a concept for a high stool which would incorporate an adjustable timber/steel reading lamp. These designs were based off the 'Tee-Pee' table by the Dublin-based Woodenleg studio. The lamp heads drew inspiration from the early 20th century PRR S1 and PRR GG1 steam locamotives.
A sketch developing the idea of a high stool/table incorporating a sculpted cast base.
An idea for a small vase derived from the sculpted forms incorporated in the early forms of the chair. This includes a cast base, which could be slotted into the the table's timber surface.
An early concept for a reading chair incorporating an adjustable lamp which would share the same form as the steel support.
The concept sketch on which all of our digital drawings would be based.
BUILD PROCESS
A prototype for the lounge chair, assembled using lasercut MDF and cardboard elements.
