This is an image from a children's fairytale book that i scanned in to use as a background for my kidswear collection . My collection is inspired by the enchanted foreset in the Walt Disney film 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' and i felt this image caputred the magic and playfullness of the mystical forest creatures perfectly.
Keeping with the magical story theme i wanted my background to resemble the first page of a story book. i used the magic wand tool to get rid of the green back ground and then i filled the space with an off cream colour. I decided not to tidy up all the small speckles of green still on the page because i feel it adds to the traditional mood and good feeling i want to get across in my collection
To add to my background i used a flower  image i had scanned in from the fairytale book, duplicated the layer and positioned it in all 4 corners.
Keeping with the fairy ring i decided to use circles for my colour palette. I used the eye dropper tool to pick colours from the fairy ring whih i plan to use in my collection and those that fit within the AW 15/16 trends.
The next step was adding a title and key words to capture the mood of my collection. I decided to name my collection 'The Fairest of Them All' as it relates directly to my Snow White theme and i feel it is a perfect descriptive for my girls age 3yrs collection.
The final step for my moodboard was to add my fabrics. I scanned in my swatches and created pattern fills for my circles. I am slighlty disappointed that the vibrancy of my swatches did not show up on screen, however i will print off a copy of my moodboard and attach original swatches for presentation. Over all i am extremley pleased with my AW 15/16  Kids wear Girls aged 3yrs collection moodboard. I used a bold image as my main focus and tied my mood togeter with simple but effective boarders and font. I woulod like to develop this idea further by introducing some of my original artwork and doing a mix media piece.
The theme for my A/W 15/16 women's wear collection was also Snow White with reference to the scene in which Snow White is awakened from death by true love's kiss. I followed the same steps here as i did in my kids wear mood board.
I researched draping on pinterest and found this beautiful image http://www.pinterest.com/pin/347551296215691186/

which i wanted to use on my moodboard. In photoshop i experimented with different filters before finally deciding to use the photocopy filter to make this image appear like a sketch. I then resized it and used it as my background.
I layered the image on top of a grey background whihc i had added light grey paint daubs to to give it a textured stone effect before lowering the oppacity of the top layer. Looking back i could have scanned in a crumpled piece of paper to provide texture. Snow White was known for her beauty and the true love between her and the prince so i looked to the Greek goddes Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty for inspiration. I particulary like the draping and texture in the image below, however i had to add a blue filter and lower the opacity to fit withmy mood.
I added my title, key words, materials and colour palette as before to complete my board. I purposely positioning my colour palette with half of it over lapping to illustrate differences in texture and transparency.
Again I am extremley pleased with this mood board.
Above is the final image for my A/W 15/16 mens wear collection mood board. Again my theme was Snow White and my inspiration this time was the dark forest and the hunter set out to kill Snow White. I uploaded an orginal picture i had taken of tree bark to use as my background. I thne searched the internet for an image of an anatomical heart to fit with my 'dark heart' theme and found a great one which highlighted the vein/nerve structure. I chose this one because it  reminded me of a tree like structureand therefore fitted with my forest theme. Again i changed the opacity of the layers so that some of the texture of the bark came through, and i altered the hue/saturation to give my board a dark navy colour. I chose the fashion image because it illustrated a dark, gothic styling with an element of Dandyism which is exactly the image i want for my collection. The dark on dark styling is also a key feature of the Decrypt Macro trend for AW 15/16. I am very pleased with this mood board however i do think it couls maybe be improved with more pictures relating to my theme, for e.g. pictures of dark, errie woods and hunters.
above  is the original anatomical heart image that i used.
