SpeakEasy process and samples

SpeakEasy is an on-going project of mine that came to be realized while I was still at SCAD. It originally didn't have much of a plot aside from "an unlikely duo consisting of a hotshot detective and his niece going around busting up speakeasies and rumrunners during Prohibtion America" and being a newspaper style gag strip.
Something like that lol
By the time I joined Ordinary Days Anthology, the story became more defined and the format for the comics changed from daily strips to graphic novel pages. Below are some of the more recent art for SpeakEasy as well as page samples from my contribution to the anthology.
The full 11-page comic is available on view here on Tumblr. There's also a second blog where I post more in-progress work during the anthology process as well as some older concepts. While it is on an indefinite hiatus (as I'm working on another comic at the moment), I hope to someday revisit this project again real soon, once I have more time on my hands!

Any time is a good time when you're busting up speakeasies with Jack Daniels and Mary Jane!
