Game level inspired by my own interpretation and exploration of The Doors' Riders on the Storm song
My General Interpretation: Befriending fear.
As a whole, I think the song is about our relationship with fear. We are thrown into a world that seems like a never-ending storm. There is nothing we can really understand about our surroundings, and everywhere we look there is fear. However, The Doors manages to take the storm's rhythm and make music out of it, almost as if fear was another member of the band, playing its own instrument.
In the game, we are thrown into a stormy-like world. We are not sure what our purpose is and there is darkness almost everywhere. We decide to take on the challenge and "ride the storm." We use fear to make our experience worthwhile.
