On 49st and 6th avenue, in front of a Chase bank are water fountains surrounded by lush green plants with decently large leaves. In the world of Thumbelina, such leaves would be enormous.
New York City is filled with construction scaffolding. In this instance I happened to look up and see this perfectly rectagular opening. In my mind I could see Alice slipping down the rabbit hole and merged the imagery together.
Someone was carrying a mirror on the bus and happened to sit in front of me. I immediately imagined the evil queen from Snow White speaking to her mirror, even in such a public setting, so great is her vanity. If you squint you can make out my reflection holding up my phone. Haha.
