for this assignment we had to use enviromental storytelling and create a 3d scene on a 20x20 platform. we also got assigned a theme we had to work with.

the story is all up to the viewers interpentation since its supposed to be a very mysterious and vague scene.

But i myself like to see it as an abandoned gasstation in the middle of nowhere, that is being taken by unknown forces.

I wanted to create a pretty normal everyday scene but have one off-putting element in it which creates that mysterious vibe.

very quickly i came with the concept of a diner/ gasstation with a green spooky vibe.

made some more concept art and variantions of it. then I did some studies of diners and gasstations

this is my final concept. After some thought i went with a gasstation because it reminded me of a horror story involving a gasstation. I also scrapped the footprint idea since it ruined the composition of the cubeworld by the dividing the viewers attention. 

i wanted to learn how to texture paint with this assignment. I primarily used photoshop but eventually i switched to the texture paint option in blender itself. it was quite tricky to work with and I think I could definitely do better. with the painting style i used i could kind of get away with the bad textures but next time i will try to make it cleaner.
