- one of the oldest and most famous bookstores in St. Petersburg

Task:
To create a series of illustrations for postcards to sell in the souvenir department of the bookstore

Concept:
The idea is to depict the meetings of two people who accidentally reached for the same book in a certain book section. This way we can show all the variety of store visitors and their interests.
Such a postcard can be a great addition to a book bought as a gift, or just a funny souvenir for a lover of some topic or genre.

The store has a beautiful interior, and I decided to use the colors of real bookshelves from the interior of the store to make the postcards more unique and authentic.

Six themes were selected: these are Space, Music, Animals, Fantasy, Mystery and St. Petersburg (the city where the store is located).

The characters in this illustration are a scientist who studies astronomy and a girl who loves everything related to space.

This couple is a violinist and a rock musician who secretly loves classical music and writes his own songs.

This illustration is based on the idea that what a person looks like and what they are inside doesn't always match.
These people would be perceived very differently without their dogs. So the pet here is a reflection of the true characters.

Fantasy is the topic which is very extensive and includes many settings. So I wanted the characters not to look too specific.
So the guy loves books about adventures, pirates and magical journeys. And the girl has a fairy/elf/mermaid/medieval princess vibe.

Just a fancy hat or a disguise to hide the face? Just reading the newspaper or secretly watching the situation? Just two fans of detective novels accidentally reached for one book or two secret agents in search of a fake book with a hiding place?
That's all mystery!

Saint Petersburg is the city where the store is located. It is famous for its rainy weather, so here is a couple who met on a rainy day.
