Mandala Gum Prints

Geometric harmony unfolds. Planes of color overlap and intersect.

These mandalas are printed on watercolor paper, each color a separate UV exposure, up to 3 exposures on some prints. The exposed portion becomes hardened tot he paper and the unexposed regions are brushed off by hand after each individual layer, then dried and re-coated with emulsion for the next layer. The emulsion is a mixture of gum arabic, potassium bichromate, and watercolor pigment.
