Final Project Virtual Tour

Final Project Virtual Tour
This is my Final Project for my 360 Production class. I chose to create a virtual tour or my parents' workplace. The tour was made on a website called Kuula, a virtual tour website that supports 360 photos.

The Process of this project was first, asking permission to take photos within the building, then taking the photos. After taking the photos, my mom had to approve the photos making sure I didn't take pictures of anything they didn't want in the photos. Then on to editing once they are approved. The editing process mostly took place on the Insta360 app on my phone, and I used a photo editing app that supported 360 photos to remove unwanted objects from the pictures before uploading them to my computer. After uploading, I add it to Kuula, organize, add hotspots and labels, then I'm good to go.

Some of the struggles I had with this project was taking the pictures. I didn't at the time have a leg attachment for the bottom of my monopod so I had to lean my camera against anything I could find. Another struggle was making sure I edited the photos correctly. Some photos I forgot to remove the chair I used to support my camera and I had to go back through and remove that before uploading. With Kuula, I chose to use the paid version so I could get that hotspot/walkthrough effect, so it makes it look more like an actual tour instead of a bunch of pictures put in a specific order. The hotspots weren't exactly easy to figure out, I had to watch tutorials and read instructions on how those worked and after figuring it out, it got easier.

What I learned with this project, is that I should definitely get the equipment I need in advance before starting to shoot and I would've had a much easier time taking the photos with the camera where I wanted it to sit.
