Hae 2
Sculptural Chair
Origin:
Hae 2 was first born as a sketch, or to be precise as an evolution of an older sketch, hence the "2" in its name. The original Hae (1) chair existed as a concept of perspective fused with the most rudimentary planes that form a "chair". While Hae 2 exists as an evolution of the original concept of this chair, in a much more relevant and concrete design that can be reproduced industrially.
Hae (1) concept sketch
Concept:
A fusion of perspective and chair fundamentals. The former being an extremely dynamic concept that enriches the design world and the latter being the most bare bones concept of design that makes up its foundations. These concepts are joined together to create a chair that balances out the two sides of the same world.

Real-life model:
The model for Hae 2 was made in a 1:4 scale, realized with MDF wood and glue for the frame and with cardboard and masking tape for the cushions. The MDF was cut using a Kataba saw and a fret saw blade for changing direction of the cut. The edges of the cut-out panels were sanded down with 240 grit sand paper to achieve a smooth surface.

3D model:
The 3D model was done using the software program Rhinoceros 7. The whole process of creating the model was done by Mario Ruggieri through video-calls between him (in Italy) and Giulio Stipa (in Brussels). Then a setting was made using a simple, clean scenario of the corner of a room with two painting by famous Italian painters Giacomo Balla and Lucio Fontana.
