AKA is an advertising agency in New York City that specializes in the design of marketing and collateral materials for many of the musicals and plays featured on Broadway. I have had the pleasure of working with them for a few months now designing key art, signage, posters, direct mail pieces, and more for some well known Tony Award nominated shows including Jerusalem, The Mother With The Hat, Arcadia, and Memphis.
Last weekend was the Tony Awards and it was a very big deal for the company. They decided to throw a weekend BBQ at a rooftop bar in the city and invited many of the entertainment industry's top producers, writers, and other creatives. I was happy to attend the event and was also in charge of designing the invitations as well as the food and drink menus, signage, and name tags.
Below is the final piece that was sent out which is a two color 5" x 7" letterpressed invitation. The invites were mailed out to each of the guests in a navy blue envelope to reflect the company colors of red and navy. It features several typographic treatments along with the logo and all of the pertinent information about the event.
