"Ride the bus" Campaign

Campaign that aims to lead
citizens to ride the bus as
a mean of transportation.

These are the keywords: Pollution, Occupied
area and Capacity. A bus pollutes more than
a car. But it also makes a better use of space.
A bus is 4x more efficient than a car when
it comes to transporting people. And it also
occupies less space for transporting more
people. 3 cars occupy as much space as 1 bus
does. Imagining that each car carries an average
amount of 3 people, it carries 9 people total.
And a bus carries up to 50 people.

We decided to use stamps, challenging
ouserlves to run away from technology.
Stamps are an easy mean to reproduce
easily the same object, saving time.
In the end, it also produces amazing
results that totally agree with our concept.
It creates pollution, smoke, and, being
a full block, it satures space. We could play
with it, and the concept would be expressed
not only through the composition, but also
through the technique.

Since we wanted to stick to 100% manual,
we decided we had to create a way of producing
type. We had to produce it quickly, and it had
to be as versatile and functional as possible.
So we created a font using only 5 shapes.
In each poster, we only had one shot to print the slogan
We didn't know which alignment should we pick for the
posters. This was the time when we recognized how useful
the computer is. When using an editing tool, we would be
able to produce 50 different options in some minutes.
We decided to use tracing paper. We would try out the
typographic composition and then in it, and then place it
on the poster and easily see if it worked.
The promotional poster would be half
printed by the people. The bus stamp
would always, no matter where you stamped
it, cover at least 3 cars (expressing the
concept of occupied area).
