Rinno-ji Temple in Sendai City

Rinno-ji is a temple of the Soto sect located in Kitayama in the northern part of Aoba Ward, Sendai City.
 The name of the mountain is Mount Kongobo, and the principal object of worship is Shakyamuni Buddha.
 It was founded in 1441, during the Muromachi period.  Date Mochimune, the 11th head of the Date clan, built this temple in the former Yanagawa-cho, Date-gun (now Date City, Fukushima Prefecture) as a family temple for his grandmother, the wife of Date Masamune, the 9th head of the Date clan (Rantei Myogyoku Zenni). bottom.
 Every time the castle of the Date family changes, Rinno-ji Temple also changes.  In 1602, the company moved to its current location in Kitayama.  It was a single-class temple of the Sendai clan.
