Smile Spoon )

The Smile spoon changes our fast food concept. Now we can afford to eat our favourite and useful milk foods (yoghurts, cottage cheeses, puddings) in any place at any time. The Smile spoon is well compatible with most of existing containers and enables delivery of food products complete with the spoon to customers without changing the existing form and design of the package. This in combination with an inexpensive and simple manufacturing technology and low raw material consumption will allow not to increase the finished product price.

The Smile spoon is a longitudinally bent strip shaped as a chute with a certain radius. This small curve is sufficient to impart necessary rigidity to the spoon, which is necessary to eat soft food and to stir.
The bend in the longitudinal plane serves two more purposes: first, the food is better retained on the spoon due to the bend and the sufficient width, second, such a spoon shape is ergonomically convenient for human fingers and lips.

Project win in DIA AWARDS 2005
Comments by Alexander von Vegesack (Vitra Design Museum director):
Even though such implementation of the idea is not available yet it looks obvious. If simple and wittily designed and materialised, it could be a beautiful product.
