기존의 동시 통역기의 불편함을 개선하여 좀 더 매끄러운 사용감을 제공합니다.

Background

When we travel to other countries or encounter foreigners in our daily lives, we experience situations that require communication with foreigners.

But in that situation, there are many people who can't even start because of fear or tension.

타국으로 여행을 가거나 일상에서 외국인을 접할 때 등등, 우리는 외국인과의 소통을 필요로 하는 상황을 겪습니다.
하지만 그런 상황에서, 두려운 마음이나 긴장감 때문에 시작조차 할 수 없게 되는 사람들이 많습니다.

Metaphor

TACO designed it based on the motif of food tacos from the joke "Let's tacos out of it."
With this joke, I thought I could start communicating interestingly by handing over a real taco-shaped product.

TACO는 "Let's taco bout it" 이라는 농담에서 따와 음식 타코를 모티브하여 디자인 했습니다.
이 농담과 함께 실제 타코 모양의 제품을 건네면 재미있게 소통을 시작할 수 있을것이라고 생각했습니다.

Sketch

I sketched the shape of the taco according to the design intention and tried to express the unique curve and texture of the taco.

디자인 의도에 알맞게 타코의 외형을 본따 스케치 했고, 타코 특유의 곡선과 재질감을 표현하고자 하였습니다.

Mock up process

How to use

Hand over half of the product to the person you want to communicate with and start communicating.
If you speak while pressing the button on the top of the product, the translated voice comes out from the other person's product.

제품의 반쪽을 소통 할 상대에게 건네준 후 소통을 시작합니다.
제품 상단의 버튼을 누른채로 말을 하면, 상대가 가진 제품에서 통역된 음성이 나옵니다.
