Trabajo hecho en la facultad. A partir de un color que fue asignado a cada alumno, se debía diseñar una serie de dos productos teñidos artesanalmente con alguna técnica de reserva. Mi diseño fue un bolso de playa y una lona/pareo. La técnica de reserva que elegí fue la de amarres, donde al envolver fuertemente con un hilo un sector de la tela y hacer nudos se evita que la tintura penetre en esa zona. Al soltar estos amarres se revela el motivo, generando unos dibujos circulares o en forma de arandela que conservan el color original del textil. Luego diseñe las etiquetas de marca “soltando amarres”, y las de cuidados y conservación. Por último, tome unas fotografías de los productos en contexto de uso para incluirlas en el catálogo.
Assignment done in college. Starting from a color that was assigned to each student, a series of two hand-dyed products had to be designed with some reserve technique. My design was a beach bag and a canvas/pareo. The reserve technique that I chose was tying, where by tightly wrapping a section of the fabric with a thread and tying knots, the dye is prevented from penetrating that area. When these ties are released, the motif is revealed, generating circular drawings that preserve the original color of the textile. Then I designed the brand labels "soltando amarres", and those for care and conservation. Lastly, I took some pictures of the products in their context of use to include them in the catalogue.
