SR-71 “Ichi-Ban” – Buried in the Deepest Ocean on Earth
The SR-71 Ichi-Ban is one of the most iconic aircraft of the Cold War era. Developed by Lockheed Martin in the early 1960s, the Ichi-Ban was a supersonic, high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. It was the fastest and most advanced aircraft of its time, capable of reaching speeds of Mach 3.2 and altitudes of over 85,000 feet. The SR-71 Ichi-Ban was the first of its kind to fly with a two-man crew and was used extensively by the United States Air Force during the Cold War. It was used to collect intelligence on the Soviet Union and other nations, as well as to test the limits of its speed and altitude capabilities.  To learn more, visit our website
