In July 2022, I had the opportunity to visit Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland. It was a brief visit, sadly disrupted by catching the dreadful Covid-19. Belfast is a city scarred by its recent history of violence and separatism. Every corner is space for memory, and every pub a region of collective identity. It was striking that while navigating the immanent tensions that are inherent to this country, I stumbled upon the Belfast Pride, a celebration of difference and tolerance. Belfast has so much to show, as its history is unfolding in front of our eyes.
