Chimidan and a laptop bag bring to light key properties of lamination: protection and constructiveness, in each bag in a different way. With the help of cutting and removing material in the veneers, it is possible to achieve maximum functions in the same sheet, and the threading detail that serves a functional and aesthetic need.
  The choice of materials and the connection between them with cold fasteners: seams, threads and screws, allow you to create a bag that will last for many years, and if it wears out or wears out in certain places, it will be possible to replace or renovate, thus preventing the replacement of the entire bag.
The project raises a discussion about furniture, classic fashion accessories and everything in between, while looking at the materiality and value of objects in our world saturated with temporary products.

production process

I chose a maple type veneer, whose fibers are long and whose flexibility allows complex shapes in a relatively comfortable way. The leather is natural leather - that is, it has not been processed, allowing for work in sheeting as well as pressing. The parts of the bag are connected by cold joints - seams, screw threads. Connections that allow disassembly, sanding, refurbishing and replacement as needed, so I won't have to replace the entire bag as soon as it wears out.
