ISOBEL / 2022
book / leporello / illustration / black & white

“ISOBEL” is the name of a leporello created as the final project of Illustration I. In this context, I wanted to challenge myself to create a story from scratch and tell it only through illustrations, without using text.

Isobel lives in a castle, longing for the moments when she can leave alone and go to the forest, where she feels the most free and at peace. One day, when she ventures into a part of the forest she had never visited before, she decides to bathe in a lake and, while doing so, she meets a woman who tells her she lives in the forest with other girls like her. Isobel decides to go with her to meet them and, after talking and dancing with them, Isobel is initiated into this sisterhood, a coven of witches that live in the deepest part of the forest.

With this story, I wanted to imagine a positive view of witches, as being independent women who live in harmony with nature.

Thank you!
