Fifth piece from the series 'Monuments of the World'.

Ulun Danu is a Hindu temple situated on the shore of Lake Bratan in the mountains near Bedugul. According to TripAdvisor, it was constructed to honor Dewi Danu, goddess of the lake that was formed 30,000 years ago by a volcanic eruption.

For my next project, I wanted to paint a landscape. I thought it would be a nice way to capture the beauty of nature and express my creativity. I didn't want it to be just lush green mountains, blue skies and lakes, rivers, etc. I also wanted to include some cool architecture with it. As I searched for a reference image, Indonesia came to mind.

Indonesia is known for its tropical jungles and scenic beaches. It also has many awe-inspiring temples and other structures. Bali, in particular, is full of temples, waterfalls, and unique architecture that would make for a gorgeous landscape painting. Therefore, I decided to create a modern rendition of one of Bali's most iconic landmarks, Ulun Danu Temple.

As this is a religious site, altering the architecture is not intended to cause disrespect.
