Bradley University Visual Voices Presentation

I had the great honor of being asked back to my Alma matter, Bradley University in Peoria Illinois, to be a presenter at their Visual Voices lecture series. The series was titled “Times Three” as they invited three graduates who work in three different geographic markets to talk about what life was like after graduation, what’s changed since then, and how our geography impacted the culture at our jobs. I had a great time designing and writing this presentation. I used lines to illustrate my own journey going from Chicago to New York as well as a transition connecting to my work since starting at BBDO.

However, the most impactful part of the assignment was being able to share what I’ve learned about the advertising business. There were so many things no one told me about life after graduation that were very eye opening. I found being able to help prospective graduates prepare for the “real” world was hugely rewarding. During the Q & A session I had a lot of questions from some very talented and driven students, and it’s been really great to keep in touch with them. I loved meeting the other alumni designers both of whom graduated a few years ahead of me. Our presentations played well off of each other. The entire experience was amazing, and I’m very fortunate to have been a part of the lecture series.
