This was my third project in my illustration class this year. My main focus on this piece was in developing the Caterpillar itself. My focus was so intense, that I overlooked the setting and color for much of my production. Fortunately, I found a lot of great inspiration and was really able to refine my sketches.

 

The character saw several evolutions and was forged out of around 100 sketches.

 

As for the colors I really tried my hand at incorporating a feeling of light. This was my second painting in photoshop and I feel that I've learned a lot.
