As a freelance embroidery designer I am working a lot with a tapestry company and we are doing some chairs together as the Ara chair and also this chair the Stanis chair. The brief was to create a chair to celebrate the stanislas place in Nancy (France).
So I used this picture as a base for my work..
I used also this picture (the alérion symbol) as this is part of the history of this place.
But I wanted to do it in  more modern way  to put some creativity in this embroidery work so I used the pop art style as below.

and this is for the back of the chair

And I did a rough simulation for the front of the chair. All these designs will be embroidered on a nice green microfiber cloth.

I finally did the embrodery and succeeded in using only 5 colors . This took quite some time to do :-)

My goal was to get this chair as it has a classy and modern style and still refers to the statue of the Stanislas place in Nancy.

But due to lack of time the Tapestry company did this and franckly to say in this chair the design is a bit lost. Alos they simplified my original design in order to speed up time. I do understand that but I think my original design was better so I will keep mine for the front cover of this project and maybe they will do another one like I designed it :-)
