It takes a village to raise a child - Mural in Nairobi

When the Italian Cultural Institute placed in Nairobi called me to join this project I had no doubt to accept. It has been my first time in Africa and has been amazing to leave a huge wall for a primary school into one of the biggest slum fo the city, Mukuru. An artist residence of one week to celebrate the Italian Language worldwide week.
The aim was to represent some italian words together to the school mottos. I had the idea to paint a little elephant that grab the mother's tail to represent the young students who are companions in study as in life by adults.
The name of the artwork is "It takes a village to raise a child".
How can explain to see the eyes and smiles of all those kids that were amazed to see their school now full of colors, the school director told me that it will help to let kids spent happier their school time.

I had to thanks the Italian Embassy in Kenya and Marco Miccoli from Bonobolabo as art advisor and consultant of the project.
Thanks for watching.
