Being funny in a foreign land narrates the story of Flo.
The story plays out in two folds. The first half plays out in panels in a black-and-white world. Flo lives a life of monotony riddled with anxiety as she confines herself to her room. This is until the day she plucks up the courage to step out to see what lies beyond the confinements of her home. She comes across this portal hidden under the bushes that transports her to a strange unknown world.
Disoriented at first, she faces hurdles- her anxieties and her sense of self, in response to the new space she is in. The visual story shows her coming to terms with her anxieties and trying to co-exist and learn from it. Flo learns to confront and overcome her anxieties, ultimately gaining power over them and finding comfort in her own unaccompanied presence.
