Each chapter begins with an illustration of the poet, their signature and their history.
After each poem is a spread which includes notes and history. The notes explain the significance of certain words or ideas present in the poem. The history gives context to the poem, whether it be about the effects of various gasses, lice baths, or the practice of recording suicides as 'killed in action'
