Emotioning Helvetica - The otherwise neutral typeface

Emotioning Helvetica - Faces of human

Helvetica has long been seen as a neutral typeface.

This experiment aims to see if emotions can be added to the otherwise neutral typeface, giving it character.

Using the Human face as a canvas, the first letter of each emotions, anger, fear, happiness and sadness is drawn. An expressionless face is akin to Helvetica, emotionless.

The subject is tasked to express out the various emotions one by one to see how the usually expressionless typeface looks and feel after it is injected with emotions.
Anger
Comparing the before & after, the line spiked sharply in region around the lower part of the face where the most contortion took place. Below are the typefaces inspired by the changes.
Fear
Comparing the before & after, the line curved slightly from the left but gradually increased towards the right side. Below are the typefaces inspired by the changes.
Happiness
Comparing the before & after, the line rose upwards in regions around the middle part of the face where the most contortion took place. The line seems to conincide with the shape of the mouth. Below are the typefaces inspired by the changes.
Sadness
Comparing the before & after, the line contoured more in region around the mid part of the face where the most contortion took place. Below are the typefaces inspired by the changes.
