EN Known as the guardian of springs, the Araripe Manakin is an endemic species of the State of Ceará, Brazil. The bird was unknown to science until 25 years ago, when members of the NGO Aquasis were the first to document its beauty. Through this animation produced by Barong Anima, which features a couple of the species taking care of their nest, we seek to warn about their threat of extinction due to the destruction of their habitat, caused by deforestation and degradation of water sources.
PT Conhecido como guardião das nascentes, o soldadinho-do-araripe é uma espécie endêmica do Estado do Ceará. Ave era desconhecida pela ciência até 25 anos atrás, quando os membros da ONG Aquasis foram os primeiros a documentar sua beleza. Através desta animação produzida pela Barong Anima, que apresenta um casal da espécie cuidando de seu ninho, buscamos alertar sobre sua ameaça de extinção por conta da destruição do seu habitat, provocada pelo desmatamento e degradação dos mananciais.
