I began by taking several headshots...

During the process of sketching this I began to have a better idea of what I wanted to try and convey with the self portrait. So I gathered several concrete textures, some photos of my art supplies, and some items that represented my status as a veteran and lastly had someone take some overhead shots of me down on the ground drawing. I then began bringing these things together in Photoshop CS5 and manipulated them to give the appearance of me doing a Giant Self Portrait of myself out on the street.
