Bruce Willis portrait that I did for my Maya Core project at Escape Studios, using ZBrush and doing the integration into Autodesk Maya and later some post-production on the final image.

The main stages included the creation of a base mesh with animatable geometry (though, in this instance, the character wasn't going to be animated), the rough blocking of Bruce Willis's head and a finer detail sculpting and painting inside Zbrush using photo references mainly from Die Hard 4's snapshots. Afterwards I did the integration into Maya, creating several different maps for the shading, from the subscatting and epidermal to the displacement, normal maps, specular maps, etc. The eyebrows, eyelashes, hair and beard were done using Maya's Hair. Finally, after lighting the scene properly, I made a series of render passes and did some photoshop post-production.
