Tipjar Films - "One: A Story of Love and Equality"

One: A Story of Love and Equality explores the personal stories of people on both sides of the vote on Amendment One, a proposed constitutional ban on gay marriage in North Carolina. Described as "A love letter to humanity," the film does not take a political approach to this issue, but instead delves into the personal pasts and pains of people from all walks of life, compassionately and generously exploring the deep humanity behind people's votes. The goal of this film is not to preach to the choir, nor is it to isolate those who hold the "wrong" beliefs. The goal is to relate to each other as human beings, and start a productive dialogue around this issue.

The film offers a unique and crucial perspective on the issue of marriage equality that has never before been seen.

I designed the logo, poster and DVD art. For the poster I originally wanted to go with an illustration but after watching an early cut of the film I realized that at its core the film was about people. After discussions with Becca, the director, a heart filled with production photos taken while filming and interviewing became the final direction.
