"Genesis V.II" project is a new media installation featuring an interactive video projection powered by depth and motion sensors. Utilizing TouchDesigner as the visual programming tool and a depth camera as the sensor, the video presents an abstract representation of the Mediterranean Sea and its surrounding natural textures.
Interaction with the artwork activates glitches and leaves a visual trace, much like the impact of human civilization on the Mediterranean coastline. The multi-layered narrative delves into the rich history and cultural diversity of the region, which has long served as a hub for trade and exchange.
The artwork aims to highlight the collective memories and experiences shared by cultures along the Mediterranean, emphasizing the idea that every individual contributes to the cultural mosaic. The final result is a juxtaposition of sharp individual edges and the smooth flow of the sea, making it a captivating sight to behold.
