When it comes to creating innovations, it is crucial to ensure that the original theoretical ideas also work reliably and without side effects in practice. This requires numerous tests under the most realistic conditions possible in order to learn from failures and ultimately achieve the intended result through ongoing improvements. 

In the field of research and development of space technology, one is faced with special challenges here, since space can only be simulated on earth to a very limited extent and flights into outer space are extremely expensive.

An approximation to realistic conditions is possible with the help of sophisticated robot installations and special set-ups for light simulation. This makes it possible to simulate trajectories in space and thereby simulate sensor technology and communication between several units. 

This project involved photographing a test facility for several small satellites and showing the people behind the scenes.

In addition to demonstrating the technical facilities, the aim was also to present the test facility to the outside world as an innovative place and an appealing workplace.
