The Polyp Lights are a fluid shell that acts as both membrane and structure made up of segmented pieces that are adhered together using archival PVA glue. While being a totally man made element, the polyp light seeks to bring a sense of the natural world into the human habitat.

The piece is sustainable, made from 30% postconsumer paper and utilizing an energy efficient LED lightsource. The piece is mounted onto a piece of SFI (sustainable forestry initiative) plywood. All paper waste was recycled as well.
