This project began as a concept investigation for the Samudra Art Prize 2022. The show was displayed at the Caudan Arts Centre for three weeks. Several ideas throughout the investigation phase were comparable to my Masters dissertation, and it did not feel right to explore the same themes. As a result, I experimented with several illustrative approaches and created the patterns for textile goods shown below.

Drawing inspiration from Victorian ornamentations while retaining some ethnic components, the illustrations use flowing lines to lead the eyes to particular elements and the vibrant colours to emphasise certain hidden features.

These designs form the basis of my current aesthetic exploration of textile and fashion wear.
