'Sorority' ('Sororidad' in Spanish) is a project to empower people on International Women's Day. Together we can go further. It combines illustration and handmade lettering.
Women must be side by side to achieve the equality goals. This twinning does not only means that. It pretends women should not judge other women. Together, women have to fight against social feminine prejudices. This begins with women themselves. Women can wear the clothes they want to wear. They can act like the way they like, but it would be easier if no other women would be criticizing their doings. Sometimes, for every step forward we take a step back. We need more support among women.
This project explores feminity to find a way to express my own desire for equity. I got inspiration in comic and folk art illustration for this illustration.
This illustration could be applied in different projects, such as posters, cosmetics and clothes. The bold colors and the paradox of the image (sweet and delicate women are powerful and have self-confidence) are intended to provoke a surprise reaction in both men and women.
