The concept centers around finding a balance between celebrating Korean culture and the Olympic spirit. The design reflects the  elegance, sophistication and longevity of Korean culture as well as the action, energy and excitement of the Olympic games.
The mark is meant to represent Korea through the grace and elegance of the crane, while also showing the action and movement of Winter Olympic sports.
The use of bright, bold colors was meant to add energy and excitement to warm up the games.
