The Bertani family has an important role in the cultural and economic life of Verona and its territory. In 1857 the two brothers Gaetano and Giovan Battista founded Bertani Wineries in Valpantena, a valley to the north of the city. Since then the primal society knew many changements and improvements.
Nowadays they produce awarded wines – among which the famous Recioto Amarone – in two tenures: Santa Maria della Pieve in Val d’Illasi and Villa Mosconi-Bertani in Valpolicella, both architectural jewels. During the last years I often worked for them, photographing their products and majestic beauty of both territories.
Nowadays the company has changed it’s name for Tenuta Santa Maria alla Pieve and is managed by Giovanni Bertani, a young and talented entrepreneur.
