As a resident of Queens, I've grown up having pride for my neighborhood. Queens is the largest borough in New York City and also encompasses many neighborhoods within its area. With this silkscreen print, I wanted to create a simple, friendly print that incorporated handlettering naming each neighborhood and also showed the shape of the landmass of the borough. It is a three-color print on a 9in. by 14in. place mat.
The print was also included and two prints were sold at the pop-up shop at City College's Design Fundraiser, CityMade, in April 2013.
I am currently working on developing prints for each borough of New York City.
