"Dabu" a mud resist, prepared by a mud dug out from dry pond mixed with Chuna (Calcium hydroxide) and Gond (gum resins of Babul tree) and finely sieving it. The mud resist was painted on the canvas fabric. Its then dried and dyed with natural Indigo. This process was repeated to obtain different shade. The non dyed part where the resist has been applied is revealed after the washing.
